According to reliable sources, the self-proclaimed "Number One Chinese Gun Shop on Long Island, New York," has closed down due to issues including the Nassau County Sheriff's Office's refusal to return the gun license, inability to renew the local handgun sales license, and inability to renew the Federal Firearms Dealer License (FLL) . It is currently unclear how the owner will handle the shop's inventory or whether they will resell it to someone else to continue operations.
One of the reasons that ultimately led to the gun shop's closure was a whistleblower report from John Lin, honorary president of the New York Firearms Association (NYFA), and Gu Jiao (a veteran in the gun world who also cared about community safety) . In 2017, Chairman Lin met Zeng, one of the gun shop's partners, through a mutual friend. Because both were interested in firearms, Chairman Lin was subsequently added by Zeng to a WeChat group for gun enthusiasts. Reportedly, Zeng created dozens of gun groups with thousands of members from the New York area.
One day in 2018, someone forwarded a criminal incident involving Zeng in Zeng's firearms group, which caught the attention of Chairman Lin. As a law enforcement officer in New York City, Chairman Lin was highly sensitive to criminal activity. He immediately added the person on WeChat and inquired about the details of the incident. Throughout 2018, Chairman Lin conducted a secret investigation. Sure enough, he obtained some substantial investigative results, discovering that Zeng was involved in selling police badges and police union cards in his WeChat groups, money laundering and tax evasion, and the sale of illegal firearms, stun guns, and air guns that flowed into New York City, all of which led to crime.
In March 2019, Chairman Lin immediately contacted the witness who had forwarded Zeng's criminal case via WeChat and requested the witness to print out all the chat records in the WeChat group. Concerned that internal corruption might lead to collusion between the police and criminals, Chairman Lin directly contacted the New York City Police Department's Internal Investigations Unit (IAB). During conversations with senior officers within the police department, they praised Chairman Lin's courage and his enthusiasm in bringing in the witness.

In July 2019, recommended by Gun King Gu Jiao and the New York City Police Department's Internal Investigations Unit (IAB), Chairman Lin appeared as a witness at a meeting between the Nassau County Sheriff's Office, federal law enforcement, and senior officers of the Long Island Police Department. At the time, Jimmy Sport Shop Inc., a Chinese-owned gun shop in Long Island, New York, had just been established. Chairman Lin clearly pointed out the potential harm and threat that the shop and its backers posed to the community, and federal law enforcement and the Long Island Police Department affirmed his views. Sure enough, during the 2020 pandemic, the gun shop faced protests from community members outside its premises due to various issues.

After a three-year investigation, federal law enforcement and the Long Island Police Department finally took action on June 21, 2022, arresting and charging Mr. Gong, the licensee of the gun shop, and an investor surnamed Zeng. Ultimately, the shop was forced to permanently close due to its inability to meet the requirements for renewing its license.

In this case, Chairman Lin's sense of justice and Gun King Gu Jiao's righteous indignation demonstrated admirable qualities. They not only showed concern for community safety but also took concrete actions to combat criminal activities and protect the interests of community residents.
This spirit of selfless dedication and courageous justice will inspire more people to actively participate in and support community safety work, jointly maintaining social harmony and tranquility. Chairman Lin and Gun King Gu Jiao's resolute actions and righteous deeds will serve as role models for the community, setting a correct moral example for us. May this spirit be further inherited and promoted in our society.
