On Sunday, November 23, 2025, a crisp, slightly chilly weekend before Thanksgiving, the New York Firearms Association (NYFA) gathered at the Long Island range for their weekly pistol training, once again strengthening the team's passion and discipline. In addition to the official debut of the Ruger Redhawk .44 Magnum, the event also welcomed several new NYFA trainees for the first time, making the training atmosphere even more lively.

On a morning filled with the sounds of gunfire and the biting wind, what truly drew everyone's attention was the first time the Ruger Redhawk .44 Magnum was brought to the training ground. This classic heavy revolver, renowned for its powerful recoil, stable build, and high reliability, is considered a "heavy masterpiece" by many shooters. After a demonstration by the coaching team, trainees took turns experiencing it and sharing their first impressions of the weapon's weight, trigger feel, and recoil. Compared to the .357 Magnum, the new gun delivered a more powerful impact, sparking considerable discussion and technical debate.

The new recruits' first training session was equally impressive. Under the professional guidance of their instructors, they gradually mastered everything from safety regulations and shooting postures to gun-holding techniques, demonstrating a high level of learning attitude. Many new recruits expressed after their test shots that while they were surprised by the power of the .44 Magnum, they also gained a deeper understanding of the importance of "controlling breathing and maintaining a steady stance."

NYFA consistently emphasizes Safety First . Whether it's a new member taking their first shot or an experienced shooter, everyone must adhere to field discipline and operating procedures. The instructor team also checks each trainee's movements individually, helping each member improve safely.

Each future training session will lead members to explore more details of the world of firearms. Whether beginners or veterans, everyone can hone their skills in a professional and safe environment. The addition of the Ruger Redhawk .44 Magnum is like the morning light falling on the shooting range, writing a new chapter in NYFA's training history and filling the weekend before Thanksgiving with a special atmosphere.

With Thanksgiving approaching, the New York Firearms and Shooting Association (NYFA) wishes everyone a happy holiday and reminds everyone to stay safe and enjoy the holiday!
