The inaugural New York Firearms Association (NYFA) pistol shooting competition was successfully held.

To enhance shooting skills and safety awareness, the New York Firearms and Shooting Association (NYFA) held its first pistol shooting competition on June 30, 2024. This competition was not only a stage for shooting enthusiasts to showcase their skills, but also an important opportunity for everyone to learn from and exchange ideas.

The competition has no more than 20 participants, divided into pairs, who compete in various events. The competition rules cover loading speed, proficiency in safe firearm handling, and shooting accuracy (including left-hand and right-hand shooting accuracy), as well as safety checks after shooting, aiming to comprehensively assess the participants' overall shooting skills.

The association organizers do not focus on how fast a participant's shooting speed or how agile their movements are, but rather on whether the participant can handle the firearm safely, correctly, and skillfully . They will also assess whether the participant possesses the knowledge, skills, and attitude required to safely own and use a pistol .
